Bernd Beschorner appointed Chief Operations Officer

Bremen / Augsburg, 01.09.2021. The Supervisory Board of Augsburg-based MT Aerospace AG, a member of the listed high-technology group OHB SE, has appointed Bernd Beschorner to the Management Board with effect from 01.09.2021. Within the Management Board of MT Aerospace AG, Mr Beschorner will be responsible for the Engineering and Operations divisions, which include the company's various development and production divisions as well as Quality Management. In the past, Mr Beschorner has held various positions in the aviation industry as a member of the management of various companies.

Companies to explore additional collaboration on commercial satellites and NASA’s Space Launch System

AUGSBURG, Germany, July 7, 2021 – Boeing [NYSE: BA] and MT Aerospace AG, part of OHB SE, today signed a new partnership agreement in Augsburg, in the presence of Bavarian Minister President Dr. Markus Söder. The new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is intended to further diversify and expand MT Aerospace’s supplier activities for Boeing’s commercial, defense and space programs over the next few years.

Augsburg, 23 June, 2021. MT Aerospace AG, a subsidiary of space and technology group OHB SE, has reached an important milestone in the targeted development of a CFRP upper stage for a future European launcher: at the beginning of June 2021, it had its prototype high-performance tank for rocket engines made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) tested at the DLR test centre in Trauen as part of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) ComET project within the Future Launchers Preparatory Programme (FLPP).

NASA and ESA plan to bring a piece of Mars back to Earth

Our neighboring planet Mars has been having repeated visits from Earth: Probes are orbiting Mars, rovers are being deployed there, we recently received a soundbite from Mars and, until recently, we eagerly anticipated the maiden flight of NASA's "Ingenuity" helicopter. The European Space Agency ESA and its U.S. counterpart NASA want to take robotic exploration of the Red Planet to a new level in the Mars Sample Return (MSR) program: the delivery of Mars soil samples to Earth in the 2030s. The Augsburg based MT Aerospace AG, which is part of the high-tech group OHB SE in Bremen, is making a major contribution to the program by supplying tank systems for the "Earth Return Orbiter" (ERO), the most prominent European component of this project.

ESA places 11-million-euro contract

The European Space Agency (ESA) has awarded MT Aerospace AG, a member of the high-tech group OHB SE, a contract to set technical standards for additive manufacturing processes (3D printing) in the space sector. The contract is worth €11 million, has a term of 3 years and is aimed at qualifying 3D processes and large-volume components for space applications.

Augsburg - MT Aerospace, a subsidiary of the space and technology group OHB SE, signed a contract with ArianeGroup on the series production of the Ariane 6 launchers exploitation phase.

Start-up Rocket Factory Augsburg playing a leading role

Bremen, March 11, 2021 - Rocket Factory Augsburg AG, a subsidiary of space and high-tech group OHB SE, has been commissioned by the European Space Agency ESA to conduct a study on the future of the European space transportation sector. The microlauncher manufacturer is heading a consortium which also includes OHB companies MT Aerospace AG and OHB System AG. The objective of the study is to investigate New European Space Transportation Solutions (NESTS) for the period beyond 2030.
