Ulrich Scheib appointed Chief Commercial Officer

Bremen / Augsburg, April 1, 2020. The Supervisory Board of Augsburg-based MT Aerospace AG, which is part of the listed high-technology group OHB SE, has appointed Ulrich Scheib to the company’s Management Board effective April 1, 2020. As a member of the Management Board of MT Aerospace AG, Ulrich Scheib will be responsible for program management, sales, Kourou business and future growth activities. Ulrich Scheib joined the company in October 2015, until now holding the position of Director of Space Programs, Business Development and Strategy.

New perspectives in the space sector for Bavaria

On Monday, February 3, 2020, the Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder visited the aerospace company MT Aerospace AG, a subsidiary of OHB SE, in Augsburg. He was welcomed by Hans Steininger, CEO of MT Aerospace AG, and Marco Fuchs, CEO of OHB SE. The central theme of the visit was MT Aerospace AG’s future prospects following the resolutions passed at the ESA Council of Ministers Space19+ conference last November, as well as New Space strategies for expanding Bavarian leadership in Germany and Europe.

Bremen, May 6, 2019. ArianeGroup and Arianespace today announced the start of production of the first 14 serial models of the European carrier Ariane 6 launcher in a joint announcement.

MT Aerospace AG is the largest supplier to the Ariane program outside France.

The most important points from the ArianeGroup and Arianespace press release:

  • Arianespace orders the first series models of the Ariane 6 from ArianeGroup.
  • Together with the European industrial network, ArianeGroup starts production of the first 14 Ariane 6s, which will be in operation in parallel with the last ten Ariane 5s from 2021 to 2023.
  • The first series production models of the Ariane 6 will leave the Ariane Group's plants at the beginning of 2021.
  • Ariane 6 is a programme of the European Space Agency ESA. The maiden flight is scheduled for 2020 as part of the development contract.

Augsburg, May 02nd 2019.With today's final burst test, the Augsburg-based aerospace company MT Aerospace AG, a subsidiary of the listed technology group OHB SE (Prime Standard, ISIN: DE0005936124), has successfully completed the development of a further carbon fibre reinforced rocket motor housing (CFK booster).

Bremen, October 02nd 2018. The Augsburg-based space technology company MT Aerospace AG today received the "Space Flight Awareness Award" for its outstanding work on the heavy-duty rocket system SLS of the US space agency NASA. The award was presented by former NASA astronaut and current Boeing Starliner space pilot Chris Ferguson on the recommendation of "The Boeing Company" at the International Astronautical Congress IAC in Bremen.

Augsburg, September 26, 2018. Today MT Aerospace an Augsburg based company is celebrating the 100th launch of the ARIANE 5 from the spaceport in Kourou, French Guyana. This anniversary launch marks an important milestone for European space travel. Ariane5 is an ESA program with ArianeGroup as prime industrial lead contractor. MT can proudly show itself to the public as a key partner in the successful development of the launcher.

Mainz/Bochum September 21, 2018. The Mainz-based company MT Mechatronics Germany, a subsidiary of MT Aerospace AG, has today been awarded a contract for the production and delivery of five antennas by prime contractor SCISYS Deutschland GmbH for the ground segment of the “Heinrich Hertz” national satellite communications mission.

Augsburg/Main/Kourou, September 11, 2018 The new European Ariane 6 launch vehicle is to embark on its maiden flight from the Kourou space center in French-Guyana in July 2020. MT Aerospace AG of Augsburg, Germany, and its Mainz-based subsidiary MT Mechatronics GmbH are constructing the mechanical launch facilities (ELA 4) in Kourou in a contract for the French space agency CNES.
